The Incident: Four FC soldiers were martyred, while six others were injured during a fencing activity on the Pak-Afghan border in the Manzakai Sector, District Zhob, Balochistan. According to ISPR, the soldiers responded to an ambush by terrorists along the Pak-Afghan border. The names of the four martyred soldiers are : Havaldar Noor Zaman, Sepoy Shakeel Abbas, Sepoy Ehsan Ullah, and Naik Sultan. The injured have been transferred to CMH Quetta.

This incident marks one of many during the fencing of the Pak-Afghan border.
Interior Minister: Sheikh Rasheed condemned the attack, calling it very saddening. He emphasized that no efforts by the enemy can hamper the efforts of our forces and fencing of the border would be completed under all circumstances.

Fencing Progress: The Durand Line or the Pak-Afghan border stretches along 2,640 kilometers, that includes very difficult and barren topography so fencing has been a mammoth task. However, it is believed that significant progress has been made.

Opposition leader: Shahbaz Sharif called the attack ‘cowardly’ and saluted the soldiers who lay down their lives for the country in the line of duty.

Pakistan has been constantly asking the Afghan government for effective border management as terrorist attacks escalate from their side of the border, especially during fencing efforts.
