Undeclared PTI Bank Accounts Have Surfaced Again

Undeclared bank accounts of the incumbent government Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) have surfaced as its financial documents were scrutinized for the second day on Tuesday. The perusal process is scheduled to end today as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had allowed only 40 hours for the investigation of PTI accounts by two financial analysts nominated by petitioner Akbar S. Babar in the foreign funding case.

Scrutiny body to resume perusal of PTI bank accounts today

The Context: In a committee meeting conducted on May 7, the petitioner Akbar S Babar had filed an application before the ECP to allow for the perusal of original documents instead of photocopies and ensure that all documents are presented before the financial analysts for review. The application also demanded that all bank statements requisitioned by the State Bank of Pakistan must be allowed to be perused as banking transactions have revealed the existence of bank accounts concealed from investigative processes.
