Pakistan’s capital to get country’s first virtual zoo

What happened: On March 6, the Capital Development Authority announced that after the closure of the Islamabad zoo, the authority plans to establish a virtual zoo at the location. It is pertinent to mention that in December 2020, the Islamabad Zoo was closed following the order of IHC, as the mistreatment of the Margazar zoo animals was reported in the capital. Details: However, now the Capital Development Authority announced the establishment of the virtual zoo in order to facilitate the citizens of Islamabad. Not only the virtual zoo but a rehabilitation center for the animals will also be made at the location of Margazar zoo, as the CHairman CDA said,  “As we cannot put animals on display, there will be a digital display of animals so that our children could have knowledge of them.”  More: At the same time, it is pertinent to mention that zoos around the globe have faced ethical issues regarding the captivity of wild animals. However, at the virtual Margazar zoo, high-tech movies and documentaries will be played and virtual shows will be arranged daily.
