What happened: On Feb 5, Prime Minister Imran Khan took to his Twitter account and stated on the occasion of Kashmir Day: “It is time the world takes notice of India’s grave human rights violations in IIOJK which include crimes against humanity, war crimes & genocidal acts.” Click here to see what the premiere has to say on #KashmirDay. Details: The prime minister urged the international community to pay attention to serious human rights violations in the occupied valley, as well as perpetuating the “threat of forced demographic change,” all in violation of the Geneva Conventions. He further stated that Modi’s fascist policies of oppression & violence have failed to crush the spirit of the Kashmiri resistance in IIOJK What else: PM Imran emphasised that an ‘impartial plebiscite in Kashmir is the international community’s obligation,’ he further tweeted: “The world must not ignore the plight of the people of IOJK and their undeniable desire to free themselves from the Indian state’s draconian military occupation.”
