BTS meal mania in Indonesia forces Mcdonalds to close over COVID-19 violations

What happened: Multiple McDonald’s outlets were forced to close in Jakarta, Indonesia after an influx of orders for the special ‘BTS MEAL’. The first day the limited meal named after the uber-popular K-Pop boy band was released several orders were made in a frenzy. Most of them were online keeping with Covid-19 restrictions. This resulted in clusters of delivery drivers flocking up to the outlets disrupting social distancing measures. According to the policy, numerous health protocols were violated especially the 50% limited capacity rule. The outlets were not prepared to manage the turnout therfore, 32 outlets had to be temporarily closed.

The response: Indonesia is already suffering from high numbers of Covid-19 cases and the vaccination rollout has been extremely slow. Indonesian BTS fans have acknowledged that delivery drivers faced possible exposure to coronavirus and social media groups have called on customers to generously tip the drivers. Crowdfunding sites and several initiatives have also been created to raise money for the drivers and their families. Click her for more from ProperGaanda.
