What happened: Zimy Da Kid, a conservationist and filmmaker, was filming a documentary in the Maldives earlier this month when he was approached by an inquisitive tiger shark, who evidently swallowed his 360-degree camera. Despite being devoured by the predator, the camera miraculously survived, allowing a fascinating look into the shark’s mouth, including its gills and teeth. Details: The footage was shot in Fuvahmulah, which is located south of the Maldives and has a large population of tiger sharks. “I put my Insta360 on a weight and dropped it on the sand. The shark was inquisitive,” Zimy told The Independent about the extraordinary encounter. “When he spotted this shiny thing, he must’ve thought to himself, ‘Let me taste it,’ and bit the camera.”
