Federal Minister: The Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar shared a tweet early morning stating that the nation wide vaccinations for yesterday crossed the 200,000 mark. He also said that the rate of registration for the vaccination had also seen an uptick.

He shared that the total number of registrations for the vaccine in the country had exceeded 5 million.
40 plus vaccination open: He urged everyone in the age group of 40+ to get registered for the vaccine so the government can move on to younger age groups as quickly as possible. The people in this age group and healthcare workers are currently eligible for the Chinese Sinopharm 2 dose vaccine.

Government efforts: The PTI government is in full efforts to procure as many as 19 million more vaccine doses by the end of June, and hopes to vaccinate 70 million of the population by the end of this year.

Other vaccines: On Wednesday, a batch of 120,000 CanSino vaccines arrived in Islamabad from China, and the government hopes to locally produce the one shot vaccine in order to be less dependent on imports.
Once again, the most crucial and meaningful support for Pakistan comes from China.
