What happened: While drilling a water bore, oil was discovered in Islamabad’s H/13 Sector. As residents found out about the accidental discovery, many started drilling for oil. They used suction machines to pump out oil and sell it. As per Islamabad’s Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, the locals were selling oil to brick kilns before the pumps were sealed.
