What happened: An Indian mother on March 23 was arrested after she allegedly killed her infant, who she was “unhappy with, by putting her in an old microwave.” Subsequently, the South Delhi mother was arrested by the police after the newborn was reported missing. Deputy Commissioner of Police of South Delhi is quoted by an Indian publication as, “Neighbors then informed us that they found the girl in an old oven. The cause of death is yet to be ascertained. We are questioning the mother and other family members to ascertain facts…” Details: It is pertinent to mention that the mother has another 4-year-old son, and during the time of the murder, the husband and other family members went to a nearby departmental store and got suspicious when the mother had locked herself into a room. Whereas, the police were able to locate the infant’s body after an extensive search wrapped in a cloth inside the microwave. More: Subsequently, the initial investigations by the police revealed that the mother was involved in the two-month-old baby girl’s murder, and the mother was upset over the birth of a girl child. NDTV quotes the incident as “Anaya was born in January this year and Ms Kaushik had been upset since then. She even fought with her husband over the issue.”
