What happened: The Special Assistant to Prime Minister on e-commerce has hinted at establishing Pakistan’s first e-commerce university. Senator Aon Abbas Buppi, while attending the National E-Commerce Symposium, has said that the government is planning to lay down a foundation for Pakistan’s first e-commerce university. Aon Abbas spoke at the symposium, “We would soon be setting up the first e-commerce university. It would enhance the capabilities of e-commerce trader’s not only in Pakistan but also in the emerging e-commerce international market.”
Details: While talking about the significance of the university, he said that the institution would help create employment options for the youth of Pakistan. Subsequently, he claimed that university would help polish the students’ skills of e-commerce and eventually help strengthen the country’s economy. At the same time, the senator said the government is planning to create the country’s first e-commerce web portal to curb the illegal e-commerce trade.
