Elephant kills woman before returning to destroy her funeral 

What happened:  A 70-year-old woman was trampled to death by an elephant who had earlier escaped from the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. DailyStarUK quotes,  “Maya Murmu, 70, was collecting water from a well in Raipal, a village in eastern India, when the horrific incident occurred.”  Details:  After the elephant escaped, the Wildlife Sanctuary stamped on the elderly woman,  “inflicting catastrophic injuries.”  Despite her being shifted to a nearby hospital, Maya succumbed to her injuries. Later, a funeral was organized by the family for Maya, when the elephant even invaded the funeral. DailyStar further quotes,  “They(family) were performing her last rights, the elephant returned and ripped her corpse from the funeral pyre.”
