What happened : A woman named Tayyaba Gul revealed how she was harassed, videotaped and stripped naked by the NAB officials when she refused to comply with former Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal’s “demands.” She made this revelation before the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC). Details: Iqbal, currently serving as the Head of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances, was summoned to appear before PAC on Thursday. He, however, sent a letter to the committee, saying he would come after Eid ul Azha. PAC heard from Tayyaba Gull during the meeting, whose controversial video with the former NAB chairman surfaced in 2019. In her statement, she alleged that NAB officials stripped her naked, made videos and filed cases when she refused to comply with Iqbal’s “demands.” What you need to know: Gull alleged before PAC that NAB Director General Shahzad Saleem, along with others, installed cameras in a room at the bureau’s Lahore Office, stripped her naked and made videos that were later shown to her husband for mentally torturing him, when he was in custody in ‘fake’ cases. She added that the former NAB head had also threatened her and said he could destroy her life within a minute.
