Woman files complaints against cricketer Babar Azam, claims he had ‘illicit relations’ with her

What happened:

A woman has filed two different petitions in court against the national cricket team’s captain, Babar Azam. The woman, Hamiza Muktar, has alleged that Babar Azam had ‘illicit relations’ with her, and when she fell pregnant he forced her to get an abortion. She elaborated that she was compelled to have the abortion and Babar Azam had promised to marry her afterwards. “We had fallen in love,” said, Hamiza Mukhtar. She produced medical records, that were attached to her petition, which she claims prove that she did in fact have an abortion and a relationship with Babar Azam. Hamiza Muktar stated that she only approached the court and the police after she felt the cricketer was ‘betraying her’. She said that Babar Azam has been ignoring her since he shot to fame, and he has reneged on his promise to marry her. The petitioner told the court that she approached the police to register an FIR, but were reluctant to do so. Lahore Sessions Court judge, Nauman Muhammad, has sought a reply from police officials about this matter, by the 4th of December. District and Sessions judge Abid Raza, has also sought a reply from the police with regard to a second petition filed by Hamiza Mukhtar, seeking the registration of an FIR against Babar Azam’s family for harassing and threatening her. The police have to submit a reply by the 5th of December
