With a ban on imports, Punjab now faces a shortage of life-saving drugs

What happened:  Pakistan has banned the import of luxurious goods in the country, and it has now been reported that the Hamza Shehbaz-led province of Punjab is facing a shortage of life-saving medicines. At the same time, ARY News quoted the development as  “pharmaceutical manufacturers blaming sales tax on raw material behind the shortage.”  Details:  Subsequently, the report states,  “only limited stock of more than 40 life-saving drugs dealing with fever, aches, mental stress, asthma, cancer, cardiac arrest, infection in lungs, diabetes, blood pressure and Hepatitis are available in the market.”  On the other hand, the pharmaceutical manufacturers claim that the ban on importing raw materials for medicines is hard to bring into the country.  More:  Pharmaceutical manufacturers are quoted by ARY News as,  “The manufacturing cost of the life-saving drugs has increased after the sales tax.”
