Will Shehbaz Govt shut down PTI initiated ‘Ehsaas Rashan Program’ in Punjab? 

What happened:  Reportedly, two local publications reported that the Punjab government is planning to shut down the  Ehsaas Rashan Program,  which Khan’s government previously initiated in 2021. ProPakistani quoted the Finance Department,  “department had proposed the closure of the program soon after the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz assumed power in the province.”  Details:  On the other hand, the Chief Minister’s Utility Support Program has been started in Punjab,  “providing essential commodities at subsidized rates at utility stores across the province.”  The publication quoted development: “ Finance Department had claimed that Punjab had disbursed Rs. 9 billion to the Federal Government for the Rashan Program.”  More:  Lastly, the ProPakistani quoted,  “it is not anymore feasible to continue the Ehsaas Rashan Program in the province as running two subsidy programs in parallel is causing an additional burden on the provincial exchequer.”
