What happened: On Aug 15, a day after Independence Day, national television channel, PTV took to their Twitter account sharing pictures and videos from their National Event which was held to mark Pakistan’s Diamond Jubilee anniversary, “Please be aware of fake videos and gross propaganda being used by nefarious elements to undermine the National Event which was held in accordance with traditional values & sentiments on the 14th August, 2022. “

Details: Sharing the video of one of the dance performances, Shahid wrote, “The way dancers are dancing in the official session at the Day of Independence of the country that is under tons and tons of debts is a disgrace to the nation- How much is the expenditure for these items?” Politics analyst, Yaqoob Khan Bangash defended the show and called out Shahid, “And behold those who have their minds in the gutter, calling cultural performances a ‘disgrace,’ they are a shame and embarrassment for the country.”
