To get rid of his son, Hiranyakshyap ordered her sister to enter blazing fire on her lap.Prahlad was saved for his extreme devotion for Lord Vishnu.The Tradition of burning Holika comes from this Legend.
This prank of Krishna, later became a trend and a part of the Holi festivities.Other legends of Holi who are extremely popular in Southern India are Lord Shiva and Kaamadeva.According to the legends, the people in South celebrate the Sacrifices of Lord of Passion, Kaamadeva.
It is also revealed that it was Lord Shiva from the meditation who revoke Lord Shiva from meditation and save the world .Holi is considered to be the festival of love and is celebrated in every part of India.
