Wedding called off after the ‘dhol wala’ was not paid 

What happened:  In what has been termed a shocking turn of events, an Indian wedding was called off  “after a dispute emerged between the families of the groom and the bride over, payment to the brass bands.”  ARY News reported the incident from India’s Utter Pradesh state,  “after the groom walked off his marriage following a dispute over payment to a brass band.”  Details:  During the wedding rituals in India’s Uttar Pradesh state, the musical band demanded money from the groom’s side, but they refused, saying the bride’s side would pay. On the other hand, the bride’s side failed to pay the band, and it escalated into a dispute, leading the families to call off the wedding. ARY News quoted the incident as,  “the groom finding his pride hurt walked off with his procession, breaking off the necklace he was wearing.”  Later, the incident was also reported to the local police.
