In a society still dominated by men, certain underprivileged sections seek approval and recognition. These are the sections where women continue to work for their families, setting aside their priorities. As we enter the twenty-first century, society is evolving, but what about the underprivileged women who were denied education and trapped in household chores from a young age? They work tirelessly from morning till night, yet their efforts go undervalued. The housewives of the desi households get to hear “tum pura din karti he kia ho?” Although, the housewives are the housemakers and they work throughout the day. It is unfortunate when husbands fail to appreciate the valuable contributions and efforts of housewives. Men who were not taught basic household skills, such as ironing clothes or preparing their own breakfast, should refrain from making statements about their wives, as their spouses should not be expected to fulfill the role of another mother. Having observed this closely, I have witnessed 7-year-old girls engrossed in mopping, sweeping, and washing dishes. Their household chores take precedence over education. Some women have completed their graduation but have struggled to secure employment. At first glance, everything may appear beautiful, but once the layers are peeled back, the reality is exposed. Some women have dedicated their entire lives to preparing meals for their families and tending to cattle. Women in villages continue to search for better opportunities and validation. Amidst this chaos, we, as human beings, can bring calm by appreciating the efforts they put in. My mother is a homemaker who works tirelessly day and night to prepare meals for our family. Setting aside her priorities, she does everything for us. I believe this applies not just to my mother, but to every woman who is a homemaker. Their love and care are expressed through different delicacies and delicious home-cooked meals, bringing pure bliss. Our Housewives play a crucial role in maintaining households, caring for children, managing household tasks, and creating a supportive environment for their families. However, they still get to hear, “tum karti kia ho?” Mai sab deta hun, mai sab karta hai!” No, you are not doing it alone. She’s literally your right hand. Our housewives’ work is essential, even though it may not be recognized or compensated in the same way as paid employment. It is important to promote a culture of appreciation and respect for all individuals, regardless of their chosen roles or occupations. Recognizing and valuing the work of housewives is crucial for fostering healthy and equal relationships within families.
