UAE acknowledges Imran Khan’s cricketing contributions and honors him with the “International Sports Personality” Award

What happened: Pakistan’s prime minister, Imran Khan, has been awarded by the United Arab Emirates with  “International Sports Personality.”  Imran Khan was declared the award winner at the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports ceremony. The event had different dignitaries’ attendance, alongside the Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Details:   However, the proper ceremony will be held on the 9th of January at Expo 2020. Imran Khan was awarded as his contributions to sports and cricket were acknowledged by the UAE. It is pertinent to know that India’s commentator and former head coach, Ravi Shastri, also published his book title,  “Stargazing: The Players in My Life.”  He credited Imran Khan as one of the best players for winning the 1992 World Cup for Pakistan.

What you need to know:   Imran Khan played for Pakistan for 21 years while helping introduce many talented players to the nation. He played 175 ODIs, 88 tests while taking 544 wickets collectively. Imran Khan was also credited as one of the most gifted all-rounders around the world.
