Twitter reacts to the Sialkot incident of torturing and burning a Sri Lankan national’s body

What happened: Another incident of mob killing took place in Sialkot on the 3rd of December as a Sri Lankan national was tortured before the mobs burnt his body. The incident took place on Sialkot’s Wazirabad road, and private factories workers attacked the manager and tortured him, as shown by the videos on Twitter. It is pertinent to know that in 2010, a group of armed men in Sialkot attacked two brothers, alleging them to be robbers. However, no FIR for the incident has been registered yet, but CM Punjab has taken notice of the incident and “Individuals involved in this inhumane act will not be spared.” Details: The video of the Sri Lankan national being tortured by the mob goes viral on social media before celebrating after allegedly killing the Sri Lankan national. Pakistan’s senior journalist, @owaistohid, tweeted, “Sri Lankan man employed at factory in Sialkot lynched allegedly on charges of blasphemy.” The federal minister for human rights, Shireen Mazari, also tweeted, “Horrific & condemnable act of the mob attack on factory & murder of Sri Lankan manager in Sialkot.” The minister also added, “Mob violence cannot be acceptable under any circumstances as state has laws to deal with all offences.” While, @shehzadghiasshaikh stated, “Jala do apna tourism budget. No amount of vloggers can white wash what is actually happening.”
