TRIGGER WARNING: Head, body parts of an unidentified woman found in Rawalpindi

In a bizarre yet disturbing incident, body parts of a woman were found lying in a green area along Leh Nullah in Dhoke Chiragh Din on Wednesday.  Her head was found from a garbage dump around the same area on Tuesday. The woman is yet to be identified. Police, however, released a picture of her head to trace her family.  Police said they had also recovered a meat cleaver lying near the woman’s head.  Statement by Police: “Nothing else was found from the site which could help the police trace the woman’s family and motive behind the murder,” said a senior police official.  All the police stations in the city and outskirts have been asked to investigate recently missing young women reports to ascertain the woman’s identity.  The body parts of the woman were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.
