Train hits a 23 year old taking selfie on Sahiwal railway tracks

What happened:   On March 12, ARY News reported that a 23-year-old youth identified as Irfan was killed after being hit by a train on the tracks as he was trying to take a selfie. The incident was further quoted as,  “The mishap took place in Harappa village of Sahiwal district.”  At the same time, it was reported that the 23-year-old died on the spot after he was hit by the train.  Details: However, the local rescue officials had shifted the body to a hospital for medico-legal formalities before Irfan’s body was handed over to the family. It is pertinent to mention that this is not the first such instance of a youth’s death as they were trying to take selfies. Another local publication reported,  “The selfie craze has been taken to a new, more worrying level, and many deaths have been reported in the past few years.”  Previously: In 2017, a teenager drowned in the Lower Baari Doab Canal when his foto slipped as he was taking a selfie. Whereas, in March 2021, a teenager was hit and killed by a passenger train in Lahore while filming a TikTok video.
