3 gunmen attacked Pearl Continental Gwadar on Saturday
Just a few days after the Data Darbar terrorist attack, Pakistan witnessed another attack on its soil. Gunmen stormed the hotel in Gwadar, killing one security guard, according to the ISPR. A large number of people reached Al Aqsa mosque “despite checkpoints and a large security presence”. The prayers ended without any major incident. The site in Israel-occupied east Jerusalem is the third holiest in Islam and has proved a flashpoint in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. A video in which actors Saboor Aly and Saheefa Jabbar Khattak appear to be making fun of a window cleaner’s job has gone viral, with fans criticising the actors for their mockery of manual labour. In the video that was uploaded on Saboor’s insta stories, Saheefa and Saboor are heard laughingly saying of a man wiping a window pane clean: “Kya kya khwab leke iss ki maa ne is ko ghar se bejha tha”, which loosely translates to “His mother must have had big dreams when she sent him to work.” It was later revealed that the man is actually a colleague of Saboor Aly, but many are stating that doesn’t excuse her behaviour. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) long-anticipated Device Identification Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) will become operational from December 1, it was announced on Wednesday. The DIRBS is an indigenous solution aimed to combat the use of smuggled or counterfeit sets which either serve to reduce tax revenues for the state or pose health problems to unsuspecting consumers.
