“To hurt a woman is to insult God,” says Pope Francis

What happened: In his New Year’s message, Pope Francis in reference to Jesus’s mother Mary, said,  “How much violence is directed against women! Enough! To hurt a woman is to insult God, who from a woman took on our humanity.”  Pope Francis also urged the world leaders to raise a voice against the violence that women face. At the same time, he talked about how women hold a society together.  Details: The 85 year old Pope also added,  “Mothers bestow life, and women keep the world together, let us all make greater efforts to promote mothers and protect women.”   It is pertinent to mention that Pope Francis is vocal about the violence against women and has credited it to be a  satanic deed  in the past.  What else: In his message for the World Day of Peace, Pope Francis had also urged the world nations to invest in education instead of growing military.
