What happened: As Pakistan is on the verge of an economic crisis, and the interior ministry blames the previous government for this shortfall, the Shehbaz-led government has now considered reducing working days to four. It is pertinent to mention that previously Shehbaz Sharif had announced Saturday as a working day, but now it looks like the decision may be reverted. Details: Economic Times quoted Pakistan’s situation as, “The cash-strapped Pakistan government is examining the possibility of conserving fuel by reducing the number of working days.” Whereas, it is predicted that this move would help the government save 2.7 billion dollars in foreign exchange. Subsequently, the government has been advised by the power and petroleum division to reduce the working days as this would help in reducing fuel consumption and protecting Pakistan from an economic crisis.
