What happened: In an exclusive interview with Urdu Point, Punjab police officer Rana Faizan shared about his passion for playing guitar and how he took a 3-month course on the instrument after completing matriculation, “These talents are God-gifted and my inspiration was Junaid Jamshed.” Details: Faizan credits his elder brother, Rana Hammad for buying him his first guitar, “Then I went to Al Hamra where my teacher Sardar Latif groomed my skills further and my friends also sent me Internet lessons that helped me a lot.” The host, Zain Babu, asked him what made him join Punjab police, “My father retired, who was also a police officer, so that affected our finances, so I decided to join the police and serve the common man,” adding that his dad wasn’t a fan of his hobby. Faizan says his job keeps him on his toes at all times, which also calls for a lot of stress, “Playing guitar gives me and my colleagues relief.” He says he got praise from VIP officers for being ‘different’ and ‘loving.’ Faizan also recalls his student life and how he travelled in a bus with his guitar which would garner attention as it was not a usual thing back then. The police officer added that ever since he grew a beard for the sake of Sunnah, he prefers singing kalaams over songs now.
