What happened: Journalist, Asad Gokal shared a video on his Twitter handle where a man is catering a small spot all by himself to remember Imam Hussan (A.S) and his sacrifices during Aashura, by distributing juice. The video is shot by a Pishin resident, who is being identified as Abdul Wariq Shah Faruqi, leader of ASWJ Pishin chapter.

Details: Sharing the video, Gokal stated, “These 2 mins are enough to understand the reality of Shia persecution in Pak. Yazeed still exists today in 2022, in the form of followers of Jhangvi.” In a threatening voice, Faruqi says, “Yeh Shia rasumat yahan nahi chalengi, aap isko yahan se hatayen.” Consequently, the man had to remove his stuff as the chief won’t quit filming him. Reacting to the hateful nature of the video, Saman Jaffri wrote, “I’ve been threatened multiple times for my faith, for being outspoken, for raising voice for every persecuted community, but this hate, this open display of bigotry broke my heart because authorities who are supposed to safeguard us will stay mum in fact facilitate these bigots.” Twitter user named Humail Nafees says, “Pakistan as a nation is no better than India in this regard. And I don’t care if anyone agrees with me or not.”
