What happened: Noor Al Sabah Ahmed is a student at King Edward Medical University, Lahore who was awarded 23 gold medals for achieving first place in various subjects at the university’s 11th convocation. Details: At the convocation, Noor made history and was also named the “best all-round graduate”. While talking to the media, she credited her parents for her accomplishments adding, “I wish to contribute to the betterment of my country.” Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar presented her with a cash reward of Rs. 1 million from his own pocket. KEMU Vice-Chancellor Khalid Masood Gondal also gave her a cash prize of Rs. 50,000. What else: Noor’s parents stated that they’ve never been happier in their lives. “We hope she excels even further in the future and makes the country proud,” they added. The 654 MBBS graduates and 100 post-graduate candidates were among the 800 students who received medals and degrees from the Punjab governor.
