What happened: The Workcuffs from Bloomington have seven adopted children. On Saturday, three-year-old Phoenix became a member of their family. Details: National Adoption Day is celebrated on 20th November. To mark the day in Hennepin County, 20 families gave 34 children a home. Adoption finalisation hearings took place on Saturday, before Thanksgiving. Workcruff family was one of them, “It’s been amazing,” said Jodi Workcuff, who adopted her seventh child. “I think it’s a hard road on a lot of aspects but it’s the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.” Her husband, Matthew Workcuff, added, “Helping somebody, changing their lives, making a difference.” Judi further shared the details, “Our youngest is 3 and our oldest is 12, going to be 13 here in a couple of months. They’re amazing — we have two sibling groups.” More: Daily visits from a grandmother, camping vacations with aunts, and sleepovers with cousins are just some of the ways the family keeps in touch with biological relatives. Matthew Workcuff said, “That’s a part of them. It’s kind of who they are, so we’re trying to keep that same connection.”
