This 38 year old man earns a living by doing “nothing” for people

What happened: A 38 year old Japanese man named Shoji offers himself on rent and offers his services called  “Rent-A-Man”  in Tokyo, Japan. Shoji Morimoto offers himself on rent, and people pay him to join them in activities such as having a meal or listening to their chit chats. His company is called  the “Do Nothing Rent-A-Man”  service and he said,  “In 2018, I was unemployed and was struggling so decided to start this strange service by making a Twitter account.”  Details: Shoji Morimoto revealed the idea behind his services as News 18 quotes him saying,  “It was to make myself available to those who struggled with loneliness and could not speak their hearts to anyone.”  Shoji also claimed that he has lent his services to more than 3000 people and is hired by three people every day as the clients also pay his food and travel expenses. More: CBS News quotes him as,  “I lend myself out to do nothing, which means I don’t make any special effort. I don’t initiate conversation. I reply to chitchat, but that’s it.”  At the same time, Shoji claims that he earns more than the average person living in Tokyo by providing his services.
