“They beat me up every time I ate without permission,” says a 9 year old stepdaughter

What happened: On January 25, the Faisalabad police arrested a couple for beating up their 9-year-old stepdaughter as the girl alleged,  “They(parents) beat me up every time I ate or slept without permission.”  At the same time, she claimed,  “They did the same with my brother.”  Subsequently, the accused Faisalabad couple was arrested and an FIR was registered under sections of child abuse and assault. Details: Samaa News quoted the Child Protection Bureau’s officer Rubina Ashraf as,  “She(victim) has been brutally beaten up. There are marks all over her body.”  It is pertinent to mention that the minor girl was taken into protective custody and was handed over to Faisalabad’s Child Protection Bureau. More: At the same time, Rubina Ashraf stated,  “After a medical examination, legal action will be initiated against her parents.”  On the other hand, Samaa quotes the victim’s father,  “The child sustained those bruises after slipping down the stairs.”
