These 5 restaurants should be your go-tos every time you visit Lahore’s Model Town C Block Market

Lahore is truly heaven for all kinds of foodies. It doesn’t matter if you’re interested in some truly desi food or even just a coffee break, Lahore always has something unique to offer. One of the foodie hotspots that all Lahori’s know of is Model Town C Block Market. You’ll find every kind of food there and 9/10 times it’ll be a banger. However, this is for all novice foodies who don’t know where to begin.  Here’s a list of things you need to try out in Model Town C Block Market.

1. There’s nothing like a good pocket shawarma

It’s a known fact that shawarmas are something all Lahori’s love to eat, as is made obvious by the dozens of shawarma makers you’ll find everywhere you go. However, sometimes the traditional shawarma becomes too boring. Rizwan Pocket Shawarma (a little stand you’ll find on the far right of Gloria Jeans) is the way to go if you’re looking for a different but simple experience. The chicken to bread ratio is absolutely on point and when you add cheese to the mix — literal heaven.  It’s priced around Rs. 140 so it’s fulfilling and easy on the wallet as well.

2. Nobody does desi better

A good BBQ spread paired with a variety of delicious naans is something only dreams are made of. Well, they were before Sholay came into the mix. Known especially for their seekh kabab, Sholay has existed in Lahore since 1989. If you’re looking for a fun desi experience that’ll have you coming back for more traditional food then you absolutely need to try Sholay. Besides their kababs, their assortment of naans is also very popular. Their garlic naan is a personal favourite!  Their prices start at just Rs. 200 so you have to at least try them out.

3. If you’re a burger and fries person there’s something for you as well

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a hearty burger with the perfect fries combo to make it a meal? Only a fool would pass up the opportunity to try Hoppers’ burgers. Not only do they have the obvious, they also have a variety of delicious fries with toppings and sauces, a bunch of sandwiches and even a healthy panini on their menu. If you’re thinking about having food in a group, Hoppers has something for everyone.  Their prices start at just Rs. 220 and only go up to Rs. 420 which is an absolute steal.

4. Coffee. Coffee. Coffee.

Anyone who doesn’t like coffee is crazy. Simply put, coffee is not just a drink, it is an experience without which survival is difficult. Rumaisa’s Coffee House offers something different than the overpriced coffee that’s readily available in Lahore. Her cozy little nook in C Block has the perfect coffee shop ambience and the interior is just stunning. She’s truly selling an experience through her coffee house. Besides the best brewed coffee, they have cheesecakes, pastries, and some heavy shakes for the sugar crazy people.  Her rooftop is all ready for you to go have a night out there!

5.  Calling all meetha fanatics

A good donut can be life changing. It’s a soft and subtle dessert that wins over the hearts of anyone who tries it. Lately through, there haven’t really been any good donut places that have launched. However, Bon Ton Donuts will definitely end your search for your go to donut in Lahore. Besides their wide range of donut flavours — that include Fudge Alaska and Roasted Peanuts just to name a couple — they also have bubble tea that is worth trying out. If you’re looking to have a proper 3 course meal in Model Town, Bon Ton should be your go to for the dessert.  Their prices start at just Rs. 160 per donut.
