The world’s largest Holy Quran will go on display at Pakistan pavilion in Expo Dubai

What happened: Expo 2020 Dubai will showcase 78 verses from Surah-e-Rahman that are part of the world’s largest Holy Quran at the Pakistan Pavilion. The world’s largest Holy Quran cast on a canvas with the gold-plated aluminum script was done by the award-winning artist Shahid Rassam. Surah-e-Rahman will be displayed at the Pakistani pavilion on January 24, creating history for Pakistan. Details: Khaleej Times quotes the award-winning artist as, “This exhibit of the Holy Quran will not only be the biggest in the world but the most unique of its kind.” Talking about his three rukus of Surah-e-Rahman, Shahid Rassam said, “This artifact is unique and innovative from various aspects. Its greatest distinction is that its words are not written with color or ink; instead, the words are cast.”  More:   At the same time, Shahid Rassam stated that there are 1585 letters, 352 words, 78 verses, and three rukus in Surah-e-Rahman that are cast on a high-quality canvas with aluminum and gold-plated words. He revealed that 15kgs of aluminum and more than a kg of gold were used to cast Surah-e-Rahman on the special canvas. Subsequently, Rassam said,  “With the help of a team of 200 artists, painters, calligraphers, designers and sculptors, I completed this amazing Surah-e-Rahman project in four months.”
