The Unstoppable Khan – Slaying at Cannes Film Festival and Much More

When Pakistanis found out that their very own superstar, Mahira Khan, would be attending the infamous Cannes Film Festival –  no one knew how to handle their excitement.

Over time, Mahira Khan has become a brand on her own. She has represented Pakistan both within and beyond the borders through her films. One of her biggest accomplishments has been working with the likes of Shahrukh Khan in the film Raees. She is currently Pakistan’s most popular and highest paid actress and has the Lux Style Awards and Hum Awards under her belt. Khan’s career in the media industry started as a VJ in 2006 hosting Most Wanted on MTV Pakistan. She later hosted Aag TV’s reality show Weekends With Mahira before taking to the big screen in Shoaib Mansoor’s film Bol . This was followed by Khan’s television debut in Sarmad Khoosat’s Humsafar – a show that every Pakistani was addicted to. Presently, in 2018, Khan gave every other actor in the industry a run for their money by attending the Cannes Film Festival as a spokesperson for L’Oreal Pakistan. Khan was the embodiment of grace and poise at Festival. She walked the red carpet with the likes of Jane Fonda, shared heartfelt moments with Sonam Kapoor and finally quietened the haters that cropped up after the infamous picture from New York was aired all over the internet. At a time when Pakistan’s image in the international news is less than what we would want is to be, Khan seems to be a beacon of hope, representing the lighter and more positive side. A career driven single mother who has made her name in the industry, Khan is actively fighting stigmas associated with stepping out of the box and she serves as an inspiration for many.

In a society where women are often pitted against one another, the out-pouring of love from other actresses in the industry was a refreshing sight to behold.

We can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve for next time, Mahira!
