The Election Commission of Pakistan hints at hearing Khan’s foreign funding cases daily

What happened: The ECP decided to hear foreign funding cases against PTI on a daily basis, a day after the Islamabad High Court had ordered to announce the verdict in 30-days. Previously, the Islamabad High Court had directed ECP to decide the foreign funding case against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf within 30 days, as Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani announced.  Details: The Islamabad High Court had also rejected the Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaaf’s request to stop giving the record of the foreign funding case to Akbar S Babar and to separate the disgruntled MNAs from the proceedings of the prohibited funding case. More: However, the PTI had challenged the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to reject the petitions, while the prohibited foreign funding case has been pending before the Election Commission of Pakistan since November 2014.
