What happened : On Wednesday, the Taliban found 3 billion Pakistani rupees from check posts that they captured from Afghan security forces along the Pak-Afghan border crossing.

Details: Yesterday, in a statement Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said, “The (Taliban) Mujahideen have captured an important border town called Wesh in Kandahar.” They said that they found about 3 billion in Pakistani currency from the invaded check posts of the Afghan forces in the Spin Boldak area of Kandahar. Analysts suggested that the Rs3 billion was reportedly received by the Afghan security forces as bribes from smugglers. They Afghan intelligence agency NDS used the money to pay terrorists to carry out attacks in Pakistan.
