Taliban government plans to ‘force’ Afghan women to wear veil 

What happened: In a recent development, as BBC reported that the Taliban-led Afghan government now has plans to force a face veil on Afghan women. BBC quotes,  “Afghan women will have to wear the Islamic face veil for the first time in decades under a decree passed by the country’s ruling Taliban militants.”  Details: It is pertinent to mention that when the Taliban ruled over Afghanistan previously, they enforced a burka on every woman living in the country,  “But they had not enforced in Afghan cities since taking over last year.”  At the same time, BBC quotes,  “Many women in Afghanistan already wear the burka, but some, particularly in urban areas, just wear a simple covering over their hair.”  More:   However, this time, the Taliban government, while laying out the guideline, has advised wearing a face veil. On the other hand, if it is not followed BBC quoted the consequences allegedly laid out by the Afghan government,  “In the first instance their home would be visited and their husband, brother or father would be talked to. The male guardian would be summoned to the ministry. The male guardian would be taken to court and could be jailed for three days.”
