Suicide hotline ‘Umang Pakistan’ helpline launched by Google for Pakistan 

What happened:  Google has now launched a specific hotline for Pakistan for people searching for suicide-related queries. Google has launched the suicide helpline as a publication that quotes,  “Anyone in Pakistan searching for suicide-related queries such as suicide support and how can I commit suicide will now be shown the Umang Pakistan’s helpline.”  Details:  Umang is a helpline that offers support to Pakistanis who have queries related to suicide. It is pertinent to mention that the World Health Organisation also recognises Umang for helping counter the suicide rise rate in Pakistan.  What you need to know:  The World Health Organisation also estimated that there are nearly 130,000 to more than 265,000 cases of attempted suicide in Pakistan as the country continues to fight the problem,  “Main reasons for the increase in attempted suicide rate in Pakistan is, anxiety, depression and mental disorders.”
