Smoking weed can increase the chances of hospitalization by 25%

What happened:  The University of Toronto published a study, which was authored by Nicholas Vozoris, an assistant professor at the university and said,  “Cannabis use is not as benign and safe as some might think.”  The study has further claimed,  “Using recreational Marijuana is associated with a higher risk of emergency room care and being hospitalized for any reason.”  Details:  At the same time, the study claims that the use of marijuana can cause  serious negative outcomes,  especially frequent visits to the ERs. The study was published in the journal  BMJ Open Respiratory Research,  and it analyzed the data for more than thirty thousand residents of Ontario, Canada. The study was conducted on people aged between 12 and 65  over six years.  More:  CNN also quotes,  “cannabis users were 22% more likely to visit an emergency department or be hospitalized.”  Nicholas is also quoted as,  “Physical bodily injury was the leading cause of emergency department visits and hospitalizations among the cannabis users.”
