Smoking is unlawful and has a negative impact on the human health: Council of Islamic Ideology

What happened: The Council of Islamic Ideology has credited smoking as unlawful. Various Islamic scholars have also given a fatwa that smoking is impermissible, undesirable and unlawful due to its adverse impacts. Details: The society for the SPARC and CII organized a conference on Islamic orders regarding smoking. A fatwa was issued that smoking is undesirable due to the negative effects of tobacco experienced by society. SPARC and CII concluded the conference, noting that the families of smokers and the residents around are also exposed to smoking’s adverse effects. It was emphasized that the younger generation needs to be reminded of the negative effects caused by smoking.

Also: The minister of state for parliamentary affairs Ali Muhammad Khan had said, “ In a young country such as ours, an exaggerated impact will be seen as this population ages and develops health problems. ” CII’s chairman Qibla Ayaz said, “ There is danger to oneself and others ,” regarding smoking.  What you need to know: It has been reported that nearly 1,200 children in Pakistan start smoking between the age of 6-15. Nearly 170,000 deaths caused by smoking take place in Pakistan, according to Malik Imran Ahmed campaign head for “ Tobacco-Free Kids Pakistan.”
