Monday: The Sindh government announced that the first phase of the coronavirus vaccination drive in the province will begin from February 3. Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Pechuho said that in the first phase frontline workers, from private and public medical facilities, would be vaccinated. Sinopharm’s coronavirus vaccine is 90% effective against the virus, Dr. Pechuho added, continuing that the convenience of all Karachi districts has been taken into account. In the second phase, people above the age of 60 will be vaccinated and in the last phase, the general public will be vaccinated. During the last phase, the health minister said that the vaccination centers will be increased across the province’s districts to cater to the needs of the people. Earlier, Sindh Health Minister said that the provincial government has decided to turn the Karachi Expo Centre into a coronavirus vaccination center when she visited the venue to review the arrangements being made.
