What happened: The Sindh High Court Bar Association has urged the SBC to take action against the lawyers involved in physically attacking the female complainant. Laila Parveen and her brother went to file a complaint at the Malir court but were attacked by lawyers at the court. Sindh Bar Association’s president, Barrister Salahuddin Ahmed, has decided to launch an inquiry of the incident. SHCBA’s president has ordered the Sindh Bar Council to identify and arrest all those involved in the incident in a letter.
Details: However, the Malir police had also registered an FIR against several unknown lawyers for allegedly beating up Laila Parveen. SHCBA’s letter read, “It was extremely distressing to witness videos of dozens of lawyers joining up the attack persons in the Malir court..” Barrister Salahuddin Ahmed has also asked for a fair and impartial inquiry in this regard. He has also ordered strict disciplinary action against any advocate involved in the incident.
