Shoaib Malik’s nephew makes history by scoring a triple century in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy

What happened: The 19 year old Muhammad Hurraira, on the 20th of December, became the second-youngest batter to score a first-class triple ton in Pakistan. The only one to do it at a younger age was Javed Miandad. Hurraira is also the nephew of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, and in his debut first-class season, scored 311 runs off 343 balls with 40 fours and 4 sixes.

What you need to know: Muhammad Hurraira is the eighth player in first-class history to reach the 300 mark, and his triple ton is the 23rd such innings on Pakistani soil. Shoaib Malik’s nephew idolizes Kane Williamson and Virat Kohli for their shots and tactical skills. In his interview, Hurraira said,  “I admire Virat Kohli’s variety of shots and I idolize Kane Williamson. Babar Azam is another batsman I love to watch and emulate as he has a great temperament and his shot selection is amazing.”
