What happened: The Pakistani prime minister Shehbaz Sharif was previously known for distributing laptops to the school and university students. However, the federal government has decided to expand the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme to schools. Under the Laptop Scheme, talented students in matric would be eligible to receive the laptops. Details: Subsequently, Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the relevant authorities to make arrangements in this regard, as the government vows to make the free laptop scheme part of their long term plan. It is pertinent to mention that previously prime minister Nawaz Sharif launched the laptop scheme in May 2014.
