What happened: On Feb 28, Shaukat Mukadam, the father of Noor Mukadam, who was killed by Zahir Jaffer in July 2021, has denied rumours that the family was close to making an agreement with the perpetrator.

Details: While talking to Express Tribune, Mukadam said, “Some people should be careful while talking about any compromise which is out of the question? I have said this over and over again. There is no truth in such fabricated stories because it was not a case of only my daughter, in fact, it is a matter of honour of every Pakistani daughter.”

The appeal: Shaukat Mukadam further stated, “Just as the high court directed the trial court to expedite the case, now I and the entire nation request that the high court and the Supreme Court adjudicate the case (in the event of an appeal from the perpetrator) as soon as possible so that the killer’s sentence can be commuted as soon as possible.”
