What happened: The Higher Education Commission of Punjab has imposed a ban on co-education and has directed the private colleges to adhere to the new directives by February 28. The latest directive by the Punjab Higher Education Commission came on February 2, as the private colleges all over the province are warned of revoking their registration if the order is not followed.
Details: 24 News quoted the development as, “PHEC in a move slapped private colleges from co-education in all BS (Hons) programs province wise.” Subsequently, there will be separate classes for girls and boys in all BS (Hons) programs in the private colleges of Punjab. At the same time, the PHEC has asked the private colleges to submit the affidavits on stamp paper regarding the compliance of the order by February 28.
