Securing heritage; Pakistan to receive Rs4.6 billion financial support for Lahore Fort’s renovation 

What happened:  As Dawn reports, Pakistan and France have now signed a twenty-two million euros financing agreement in a bid to extend the support for Lahore Fort’s renovation. The French Ambassador to Pakistan, Nicolas Galey, is quoted by Dawn,  “France is proud to be part of the ambitious plan of the Punjab government to develop and promote the unique cultural heritage of Lahore…”  What you need to know:  At the same time, Nicolas Grey stated,  “The rehabilitation and development of the Lahore Fort surroundings will be a powerful engine of sustainable economic development of Lahore by increasing the tourist attraction and improving living conditions.”  At the same time, the agreement was signed between the French government and Heritage & Urban Regeneration in Lahore through the project, as it aims to restore the unique heritage of Lahore.
