After the PMDC was dissolved on October 19 upon the promulgation of a new organisation called PMC, the council building was sealed and 220 employees were fired. A 10 member delegation met up with JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday who agreed that his party would vote against the Ordinance Bill in the Senate.
Former PMDC Registrar Azhar Ali Shah told a private news source that although members of all opposition parties visited a protest camp of the sacked employees no government representative bothered to meet them. However, Fazlur Rehman condemned the ordinance and sacking of employees immediately.
“The Maulana not only listened to our issue with patience but also assured us that he would play his role in restoring the PMDC,” said Azhar.
He added that the JUI Chief directed Senators Ghafoor Haideri and Talha Mehmood to contact opposition parties and play their role in the disapproval of the PMC bill which will soon be tabled in the Senate.
