Saad Rizvi released from jail after the government had struck a ‘secretive’ deal

What happened: The TLP’s leader, Allama Saad Hussain, on the 18th of November, was released from jail. The Tehreek-e-Labbaik, Pakistan’s chief Saad Rizvi’s release, comes days after the federal government had reached an agreement with the then-banned TLP group.  Previously:   It is pertinent to note that Saad Rizvi was arrested earlier this year after the federal government declared Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan a proscribed organization. At the same time, the group was deemed proscribed under the anti-terrorism laws, and the authorities launched a ‘huge,’ crackdown against TLP. However, in September, the TLP launched a nationwide protest demanding the release of their leader, and the clashes with the security authorities caused injuries to many police officers and the TLP workers.

Also: It is pertinent to note that after the protest by TLP turned violent, the federal government struck a deal with the group, allowing TLP’s name to be removed from the blacklist, and Saad’s name was taken out of the fourth schedule list. Also, hundreds of TLP workers that were arrested were released on government orders.
